Learn the basic concepts of photography (Module 1). 

This course uses digital cameras to build basic skills in students who have an interest in photography, but no prior experience. 

Using a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on exercises, this course will explore the basic photographic techniques and artistic concerns involved in making photographs. These include camera handling, composition, effective use of light, 

Additionally we will take a photo walk to practice and have open discussion time.  This class will boost your confidence and give you creative freedom to create what you imagine.Entering the course you must have a digital camera SLR style or a mirrorless camera with manual controls.

The following module has been designed for those just starting out in digital photography and wish to minimise time on the computer with editing techniques and digital workflow.

The course will show students how to use Lightroom efficiently to import, process, manage and showcase their images. The content of this course will also demonstrate how to create more efficient workflows for image processing and working within Photoshop, making use of the various panels available in Lightroom.

This module includes:

• Understanding the Basics of Photoshop
• Navigate the Lightroom interface with ease and confidence
• Import images
• Edit & filter images
• Make use of image adjustment panels
• Develop images, ready for exporting and printing
• Prepare images for showcase

This course is a 5 week long

This is an ALL day course.

We will discuss and practice fundamental skills required to capture the best pictures in various situations. Night photography is unique and requires a completely different set of skills from shooting in daylight.  You will need to know your camera and setting before this course.   Depending on the time of the year will depend on what we will shoot.   

We could do:

• Night street photography with light trails
• Milky Way and star trails
• Painting with Light
• Moon 

For this course you MUST HAVE a tripod and Shutter release cable.
